Plenty of WHO posters should be eating humble pie
Bilic and team did very well today

Solid defence and plenty of attacking, I enjoyed the game and was only disappointed that we did not get the win we deserved.

I think the match stats show this:
Possession WH 41% Eve 59%
Shots WH 15 Eve 4
On target WH 3 Eve 0
Corners WH 8 Eve 4
Fouls WH 9 Eve 15

I am a bit surprised we did not have more possession, but I will be (I know I will be) even more surprised if people on here cannot agree we were the better team that played the better football.

THAT IS WEST HAM
BILIC IS WEST HAM

Re: Plenty of WHO posters should be eating humble pie
i agree with everything Leroyboots has posted but I'd want to make sure we get the right replacement.

I still feel a loyalty to Bilic especially after last season which I enjoyed probably more than any other season since 2006.

If this season's signing are his decision then oh boy. But made some great ones last season;

I want him to be able to turn it around but my gut feeling is he can't

I see you're in two minds, Leroy, as Delboy would say.

He has a little, but he's also let himself down plenty this season too.

He needs to regroup over the summer and he and the owners both need to do better next season.

Bilic needs time more time. People have already forgotton what he did for us last year. He has been seriously let down by our two bob owners.

Re: Plenty of WHO posters should be eating humble pie
Sorry fucking ridiculous post

We are a shambles

Bilic ostracises players...very professional that

He has blind spots, left right and centre

He persists with plan a...when we do change to plan b it's plan a with different players

Experiment with players !?!... what are you 12 ?

Experimenting when we are in dire trouble ?

Yeah that works

Bilic is like a rabbit caught in the headlights...he freezes...he doesn't know what to do when things are going drastically badly

See the spankings at home to prove that...conveniently glossed over in your appraisal.

His treatment of the youngsters has been appalling.

He has persisted with Callieri because he doesn't trust Fletcher...fuck me Fletcher has looked twice the player the Argentine is when he's played, yet I reckon Bilic prefers the Argie as he suggested us getting him

He also suggested Feghouli and Tore, Fonte and Snodgrass

The players the club scouted, Fernandes, Bryam, Arbeloa, Fletcher and Nordveidt have largely been ignored

Only playing a few of late due to injuries

On Noble he has a massive blind spot

He is simply not good enough...too slow and gives the ball away every fucking game on a consistent basis

Because he's a chirpy cockney geezer Bilic thinks it's good for the fans

Fuck me Im a chirpy cockney geezer yet I'm 55 with high blood, dodgy knee and failing eyesight !.... fuck me I'm on the bench Friday !

Re: Plenty of WHO posters should be eating humble pie
He's staying so we should focus on what the team needs in the summer.
I've always been a big advocate of 3 at the back and with Ogbonna fit we have a very strong back 3. The swap to
3 at the back has made us look much more solid.
We now have two decent left wing backs, Obiang & lanzini plus Kouyate is a decent midfield. Ayew is getting better & better.

Decent keeper plus a couple of strikers who are 1. Fit and 2. Able to score........ then we are in business.

We are right back where we started after getting promotion.
Unless there are some very astute dealings in the transfer market I fear for us next year

Old French nombles (innards of an animal, usually a deer) -> Middle English umbles -> early modern English humbles.

The bits the assisting peasants got after the hunt.

Anywhere I can find them already extracted from the deer?

Re: Plenty of WHO posters should be eating humble pie
Looked back at this the other day not sure why as I thought the thread was long dead (should be!), so I was surprised to see Hammers1993 post, to which I feel I should reply

Essentually, I am happy to stay with Bilic as I like the teams he puts out and the football I see. I enjoy watching the games each week. I can see somethings could be better (disappointing subs today), but I am more than happy to see Bilic and team develop and improve. I am convinced they will develop and improve. I do not like changing mangers every few years and so when we have a half decent one I really would like to give him a good long period to do his best.

Hammers, you do give a good long list. Not sure if I can answer all, here goes

Some players out of position can be justified for need, our squad is not the best especilly with the injuries. It would be nice to always play everyone in position, but also good to experiment, to strengthen the team, as at times Bilic has.

Was a disappointing finish last year, but great season all the same, full credit to Bilic and team.

Tore was a joke agreed, guess he is leaning how difficult it is to bring players to the Prem. He has done well with Obiang and Antonio, I have no problem there. Signings wee diappointing, I do not believe it is all Bilic and I sure we are learning and will get better, also we are signing young players and will be good when they start to come through.

Yes second Europe exit was disappointing. They are a better team then we like to say and our preseason training was crap due to the Euros.

Man City results were crap, tried to play our style and it did not work, we should keep trying and not change to defending.

Noble is a good player, not sure what everyone has against him. Nolan was ok, never fully understood the stick when he was scoring most of our goals. BFS was the problem, not Nolan.

Bilic has a good attitude and appriciates our history, that is a good thing.

Probably training can be improved, good if Bilic sees that. not very convinced by Valencia and Stam, they are making excuses for themselves. Stam is doing pretty crap at Reading and Oxford is waisting his time there.

Fonte and Snodgrass were good signings. Snodgrass started well and I am sure will improve again, Fonte is doing a job right now, very necesary player.

Calleri is getting better, but yes not good enough. Not many options at the moment.

Bollocks, we have played a lot of good football since Payet left, even when getting beaten we have played well and had many narrow loses. Long ball? You must be watching the wrong team.

Yes very disappointing lossing at the end, too many times. We would be very different with those points. I think it shows how close we are to winning and being in that position. Main problem has been defense and goal keeping. Good to see Adrain back on form today. They will be working to improve the defense. Perhpas we finally get a balance on the right this summer, it is odd I have to agree. Why do we keep failing to sigen some decent right back cover?

I think he has done okay handling the failings of our keepers. As I said, I hope Adrian is back on form and keeps his place.

Tough season, new ground, Euros screwed up the preseason, signings were not any help, Payet screwed up a good part of the season, all the usual crowd at the top spent big on team and managers and made it harder for everyone (they were nearly all a mess last year). All in all considered Bilic is doing well and should definitly have another season and more.

Good god, I going to bed! good night.

I honestly would love to hear your reasons for wanting Bilic to stay, genuinely?

For what it's worth, for me, these are the reasons he needs to be replaced:

- His consistent playing players out of position

- Persistence with Antonio at RB costing us a champions league place in a season which was our biggest chance

- His judgment on players, not wanting to play Obiang or Antonio at first, then the signings he made, publicly bigging up Tore as "incredible"

- Both Europa exits. To not only exit twice but to the same team learning nothing from the previous mistakes

- On the back of the above point see Man City at home this season too, we lose heavily in the first game, we then play them again a few months later making no changes what so ever tactically and guess what? We get smashed again

- Peristence with Noble, Noble is a good squad player to have but needed a few games on the bench yet Bilic continued game after poor game to start him. There was zero difference with Allardyce and Nolan yet because it's Bilic oh it's fine

- People have short memories and think Bilic is West Ham through and through, yet he saw a move through to Everton, but guess that doesn't count either cause you know, he's such a nice guy

- Many people have come out criticising the training (inlcluding himself, as well as Valencia, Stam through Oxford and couple others

- Didn't want us to sign a right back in January, instead we bought Fonte and Snodgrass, both not good enough

- Continous persistence with Calleri, WHY? He has shown nothing, a striker who has scored 1 deflected goal that was going wide all season!?

- We don't even play good football anymore now that Payet has left. All you see is long balls out from Fonte and Collins at the moment, we even did it yesterday when Carroll wasn't on the pitch, clueless

- 22 points dropped from winning positions, a lot of them late in games, no organisation/lack of fitness, not being addressed.

- Only just dropped Randolph, in short he takes far too long to make the decisions that should be made, sometimes months before. For a man in a job which is based on decisions he nearly always seems to make the wrong ones and when he does get it right it's through him being forced to. Too stubborn

There are many more reasons, too many to list. I do like Bilic as a person but as a manager he is bobbins. You need to be ruthless and thorough, I see no discipline in the team, having a bad performance week after week should see you dropped but that never happens, he is too soft.

I would like to hear your thoughts on why he should stay though..

Re: Plenty of WHO posters should be eating humble pie
Some good comedy here
Alfs gets it right, I sick of the negativity on here and the doom and glook before the game, predictions of going 3-4-5 down was too much for me and with a few pints in my belly, the joy of a good performance, I could not help myself, a little over exuberant.

Joey deacon got a mention, poor guy what happened to him, we absolutely took the piss out of him as kids, it was terrible looking back, but what horrible fun we had acting like Joey...
